Hope for the Helpless Through the Provision of Artificial Limbs & Orthopedic Braces
, Raul and Rebecca have three children under the age of 5. They live in the village of Xul, which is three hours south of Merida, the capital of Yucatan. The family lives in abject poverty yet, they are happy people. They live on dirt and concrete floors, have no running or drinkable water, sleep in hammocks, and have very little electricity. They live without heat or air conditioning, though temperatures that soar above 100 degrees every day from May until September. They also have no transportation other than one old bike. Raul was born with severely deformed feet and has a hard time walking. In 2012, he lost his job at a gas station due Mexico’s bad economy and has not found work since.
SINCE THEN HE HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND WORK AND OUR MISSION HAS HELPED THIS FAMILY WITH THEIR SERIOUS FINANCIAL NEEDS.
CAN YOU HELP US HELP THEM, WITH A GIFT OF $20, $50 OR $100?
PIPO Missions has been helping this family for over 13 years, by supplying custom made
shoes to Raul, so he can continue to walk, work, and support his family.
They have been suffering without any income for over two years and it has taken a toll on the health of the children. They could not finish the construction on the block home,
situated next to their stick thatch hut that they have been living in for over 30 years.
They needed $1,000 to finish their new home to make it livable and safe.
We saw this family in every December since 2012 to take Raul a new pair of custom made shoes. We also extended God's hand of love and mercy with a generous donation of $1,000 from one of PIPO Mission's donor-partners. This helped them a lot, but ended up going toward medical bills as the grandfather of the family became gravely ill.
In 2015, we have again visited Rebecca and Raul as Rebecca's father died and the family was left with huge medical bills. We helped them financially as much as we could along with making new molds of Raul's feet for new shoes. Now, they continue their battle. The grandfather, who was the only breadwinner of the family died just months ago, leaving them without ANY income. They are desperate. They STILL need money just to survive, keep their home, and to pay the medical debt.
CAN YOU THINK ABOUT DONATING TO HELP THIS FAMILY?
